If You got this shot fifteen years ago on film it would really "rock the boat". Todays technology allows us to manipulate everything. The sky is very dramatic and the clouds are just breath taking, but are they real or they were colored in Photoshop? It is an eye pleasing landscape, well done and nicely presented.

I like photographs like that. It is usually very hard to get this sort of a picture without disturbing the mood. Great looking people and good interaction between them. Amazingly moody. Congratulations!

Very interesting angle for a portrait. The directions the person is looking and the wall of the building behind with two windows appear to be focused at the same spot and it created a pattern or interplay in Your shot. Well done!

Hello Nick! It would be a very flat and forgettable shot, but the power lines reflecting the pattern of plowed farmland are intriguing. Interesting picture something unusual about the ordinary.

This was taken inside a canyon in Death Valley National Park. I am sitting on one wall of the canyon and the other makes for the background. It is a hike to get this low to be even with the planes. They fly inside this crack in the ground. It is like watching Star Wars in the nature. Sorry for my late response. It is getting cold again I will be heading there soon.

Wow. If there was a Nobel Prize in photography, this image would take it. I have never seen the beauty of Lake Tahoe captured in such a masterful way. Not even Ansel Adams ever got it so good. Even though he traveled the Sierras back and forth. The rock is very steady and the water looks wet and so clear that I can see the bottom. This image deserves not 7 but 86. Congratulations on the award, well deserved.

Hello Richard. In my opinion the power of photography lies in capturing a special moment so well timed as it would be hard or impossible to repeat, a situation that if You blinked would be missed. It could be also some emotion or culminating point of an action, a moment of pure beauty, when the Sun peeks through rainy clouds and beams down to Earth for example. Or a scene that required the photographer to go to some length of effort in capturing the image . I am looking at Your shot and it doesn't represent any of the values. I am trying to figure out what was significant in that door handle it made You point Your camera and press the shutter release. Honestly I don't see a thing. Yet a lot of people are truly fascinated with that image, or at least they say so. That makes me wonder if a picture like this could be marketable. If yes, this could be a new business. Thank You I hope it put some light on my previous comment. Good luck.

Well done, kudos to You for tackling such a controversial subject. While there are many butterflies and sunflowers on this site Your shot stands out in the crowd. Not only the theme but I also like the way You shot this picture. There is zooming effect that doesn't allow attention to escape from the burst of blood from the slit throat. Amazing, the highest note. I only wish You posted the picture a bit bigger.

Nice attempt at shooting an ant. The head and front of the insect have amazing sharpness and detail. The only thing that bothers me is too narrow depth of field in my opinion. Regardless it is a very good shot.

It looks like You picked a very good moment to photograph this guitar player. Very spontaneous shot, this is probably why You had no time to compose it in the camera. The space above his head is not contributing much to Your picture, in my opinion the hands are much more important, unfortunately half of the right hand is missing. I know how it is when shooting concerts, I make the same mistakes sometimes. Good luck!
