I Don't like this one, because her face looks very large in this picture.

Well done josh! A refreshing - unposed and natural smile. The DOF and B&W conversion are both great and I really like the natural framing . . .
Impressive!

Quite an improvement over "take 1" Josh, particularly in the sky that was washed out in "1". I have a barn collection, somewhat, mostly in IR "false color". This is a beautiful B/W, with only a few shadows that might be a little dark. Tones are gorgeous, Josh. Great composition. Anson

That sounds about right... Shipping the bloody thing can be a hassle, though, let alone getting it inside when it's framed... Per attached a 1:1 enlargement of a part of the cow's back - this is the halo that I was talking about - barely visible on screen, but quite distinguishable in the print. Luckily the sky in that area was pretty bright already, so it doesn't jump in the eye from a distance.

just checked... a local lab will do a 6x4 ft canvas print for $240 It might be a good present for my inlaws who have a huge open wall to fill

Still, I'm rather glad it's not my house that beast is hanging in... it was a commissioned shot.

It was rather difficult to source. And I now realise the typo - I couldn't find that width, so it turned out to be a 6.5 x 4.5 ft print. I had it printed on canvas, which came out in a surprisingly high quality. The print didn't come cheap, though... I sourced it locally, so that won't be of much use to you, but googling on "print on canvas" will produce a number of useful links. Make sure to ask for a few samples first, not all canvasses are of equal quality. See attached.

Hugo.. if you don't mind me asking, where on earth did you find somewhere to make a 6ftx6ft print?!?

Hi Josh, Very moody scene for sure. I think you're pretty close to send it away to the printers, there's not much to nitpick about this shot.

The only thing is to work on the halo between the sky and the trees just right of the barn a bit more. Probably either by redoing the masking with a different feather, or by blurring the edge with a few pixels. I made a 6 x 6 foot print of one of my photos, and those apparent flaws in transitions between subjects become very noticeable...

Cheers,

hugo

Awesome Josh . . . if it keeps up . . . the chain will eventually end up embedded in the tree . . . some day to surprise the living heck out of a sawmill!

The sky is very nice in this one. Removing the RV was a good idea. The area to the right of the barn is a little dark, and I like the stronger contrast in the foreground of the original.

Well done Josh . . . I do that from time to time as well (Two meters) . . . it sure helps for the sky/ground exposure and is easy with RAW files. And it worked very well for you here!
A dramatic sky indeed on this one!

Yes, that's the finch in the middle... they are doing wonderful. I plan on shooting them several more times to show their progression.
