Great photography, txules! Like the title too, so true of the poppy, so true of the man. We don't last long.

Gr8t shot, txules!

Still looking for your sign, I see. There are two of them, and one pulls most off the path of the other.

Nice work, you've taken and interesting subject and improved it!
It has a dark mood for sure.

Looks like Red Wing Black Bird Habitat.

Hi Andre.

Do you suppose these birds are all possessed by evil spirits? Of course I realize the Grackels get some too.

Super shot, escaping tonal mergers with all that black, well done! And have a nice day!

...and I haven't been drinking!

My wife is very kind to me.

I think the smaller this image is sized, the better. :) I say that in part due to the resolution/sharpness or lack of it. Something in this image just isn't sharp enough. You know what I mean. If I had added a third subject, such as a light fixture, things might have brightened up a bit. As it is, there is a dullness here...

Thanks for the info, Andre. I'm leaning the other way, looking at the Tokina 11-16 wide angle lens. I need it like I need another hole in my head...

Hello Galal,

I like it! The marks on the rocks indicate the water level fluctuates a lot, or was a lot higher in the past. I don't know much about world geology, I suppose there is a dam on the Nile that regulates the water level. Beautiful colors!

Great shot of the "Ice Capades"! Your son was the goalie? I suppose that is the reason for the special mask....or maybe just smart to wear. It's great you have this photo memory of the two of you together on the team.

My father used to figure skate - - in a pair of old hockey skates and he made everything look so easy....I never got it, but a couple of my sisters picked it up. I was the youngest and the folks left Indiana for Colorado in 1970, and that ended the ice skating. There is ice in Colo, but it is usually covered in snow, and so not as much "free" skating opportunities.

I've been off work since last July with a lumbar extruded disk and torn medial meniscus. Not much luck so far with work comp doctors, but at any rate I'm not looking to try ice skating again. Ever! :)

The house is warm, we have a lot of food, the wife and kids are healthy. God has blessed us so much we would be foolish to place our trust elsewhere, and so the future looks bright.

May God's light shine upon you, Andre!

Hi Andre, thanks, and I agree with you. I've been trying to take more "snapshots" of the kids, and life, as I'm thinking later on these will be appreciated more by the family.

I posted a B&W version at flickr (gasp).
