Oops - Joey's birthday is May 27th, Dom's birthday is October 19th! Alyssa Silva's birthday is May 1st! YEP not a pre- but a bigger than life Senior Moment! But with husband, 4 children, 11 grandchildren, several daughter-in-laws, etc. etc. who can remember all those dates without looking them up! Need to put those birthdays, anniversaries, etc. on speed dial like phone numbers! Darn.

Beautiful grandchildren.

The boys are so cute with their big smiles.

What a precious little angel Ryan is.

Great looking family. You have plenty to be proud of.

The datails are great and the way you have caught the light really works with this. This is very pretty, Janice, it makes my eye wonder through the whole picture looking at the lovely frills.

This is so lovely, Janice. The details are crisp, yet the feeling is gentle. It is a very pretty composition with your main bloom presented diagonally with the others in the background. Not including other blooms on the stand out.

The colour is so deep and rich. It looks great against your background. I am wondering if cropping out the unfocussed petal in the right foreground would make a positive difference. I am not sure, just thinking out loud. It seems to catch my eye and draws it away from the main part. However, the top petal enhances your shot.

I like the way you see things, this pretty little fluffy does look like it is swinging. Neat shot. Nicely captured. YOu are having fun with your macro lens. I must use mine more. I've only taken a few. Most, I'm not so pleased with, but practice will get some better ones.

Thanks Ellen. I was happier with this shot - and I was standing back a little further - the actual shot has three whole flowers in it - but the focus was on this front one so I decided to do some cropping out of the rest of the shot.

PS - hit that reset button and get busy Lady - I have missed seeing your posts.

Good comment Ellen. Rob said the same thing. Think my focus on this one is on the left side (as you are looking at the center). Part of my challenge is not mashing buttons so much as my eye-sight and needing to get the right strength attachment for the view finder. Just need to get myself to an eye doctor so he can do whatever he needs to do in order to recommend what #x-strength to get. Would hate to waste $ and get the wrong one! Things that I think are in focus aren't, and those little black squares that show you where your focus is...hard to see they are so small. Will work on it. Jan

Ellen - they are parts of snapdragons - and I too am waiting for pictures from the wedding. It was a very nice ceremony. Weather cooperated - mid 60's which is good as the wedding took place outside in Kim's friend's garden. Up to Sam and Rob to post photos - I didn't take my camera (hindsight, guess I should have huh?) Jan

There you go that's it much better. And it's at the same settings, weird. You might have been just a touch too close with the others. My camera won't shoot if it can't focus. That can be a big pain. The camera has better eyesight then me so I just give in. lol Don't be a stranger.

Forgive me but I would have liked it better if the center was sharp and it faded out from there. I'm not sure if you can change it in auto, this is one for Sammy he knows these things. Keep shooting. I'm in a slump and can't get my focus to play fair either. I'm ready for the reset all button. lol Too much mashing the buttons.

Thanks Mary - appreciate your comment on this on some of my other florals. Really looking forward to seeing some new posts from you. So many of us appear to be really busy right now. Very few posts by my friends and associates. Perhaps things will settle down in a while. Jan

Thanks Don - This macro lens does have a stabilizer, but does work better on a tripod when used on manual. However, it does do a pretty good job when used on auto macro.
