Your macros blow my mind. It also blows my mind that you took them with such an "unorthodox" setup. Could you possibly take a photograph of your macro setup? I'm having a hard time visualizing what exactly it is you did...
Keep up the amazing work. You're an inspiration to all us poor photographers, although it sure was convenient to be able to blame one's equipment for the poor quality of a shot. One more handy excuse down the drain. Curse you for raising the bar for us all! =P

this one is super too;Yet I don`t believe it was taken with an A75 and ur macro lenses.

Svaka cast! Izgleda da smo braca po fotoaparatima! Posto imam isti aparat kao i ti a upravo krecem na kampovanje mogao bi mi dati savet za makro! Imam dosta uspesnih makro fotki ali sa nepokretnim objektima. Kakve su ti postavke da tako sjajno uhvatis insekte bez blica? Hvala. Ogjnen , najveci amater na ovom sajtu! Pozdrav iz Novog Sada.

A superb shot, Domjan. Great focus and two insects instead of one always adds great value and a great new dimention to a photo. Possibly 1/2 a stop extra exposure (midtone), but I also like the (overall) low-key shot... Well captured.

Good job, and congrats on this award!
I have often said that anyone can pay a bundle for the great equipment...BUT, not everyone who does this is able to 'see' the neat, appealing image. The true photographer should be able to take a fantastic image on simple equipment. Here, we see that you are a true photographer.
Nice composition, great colors! (hope this one isn't carrying 'West Nile'!!)

Hello Domjan this shows it's the photographer behind the camera, not the technology! The image works well in what's really browns and greens. This simplicity makes the composition stronger. I recall eons ago where I made a close-up lens by taking apart an old wide-angle and tele auxillary lenses and switching the front and rear parts. This gave me 2:1 when mounted on front of my old Spotmatic II. I had to make a 49mm to series 6 stepdown ring in my high school machine shop. Experiment more, you are on the right track.

Can you pls. be so kind and send me more details regarding ur home made plastic adapter+ home made flash guide and also what do u mean about: "assembly taken from a broken 50mm f/2.8 film camera lens", broken?which kind of camera was?Only if I`m not asking too much, cause I`m really impresses by ur job here!
I tried a macro with mine canon A95 but without flash and with it`s original lens from canon 3x optical 38-114mm f/2.8-4.9 zoom; I have also a question I saw someone that said he used full zoom for a macro, I tried with mine and cannot focus to well the object and it isn`t clear anymore.

by the way I started to take photos in November last year with a Canon A300,so I`m a begginer too.I saw the filter adapter that u built it but I need more info cause do not know too much to build myself, one like urs.

I have a Canon A85, How I equip it to take such these shots?
The best macro I could taken by it is http://www.usefilm.com/image/833878.html, but it is not comparable as what you have performed here
