Hi there, great atmosphere! Well seen indeed.

Hi there, Well done indeed. That's really what USE FILM should be all about! The only critique I can think of is that you could have taken the picture in less harsh light conditions so that you wouldn't have the light area on the grass. But fine none the less.

Hi there, well... too artificial to call it a photograph to me. But I suppose that's why others call me conservative in these matters ;-)

Nice subject and lighting... And you didn't add anything with PSP or used HDR techniques???

Hi there, just one question: was this point of view better than exactly in the middle of the qay (with the lanterns exactly in line)?

Hi there, nice subject and composition. Too bad you had to do an extreme makeover of it with PSP or something alike... I'd say: if your subject and framing is that good, don't go messing it up like it's been shot on Pluto...

Hi there, Very well seen indeed, good lighting and those nice colours too... Great! The title could easily have been 317 btw. ;-)

Hi there, sort of mathematic picture. I think I like it indeed.

Yep, that's another flower. Flowers are difficult to picture. I think to get some more out of the subject, that's been covered by lots and lots of others, you might try another point of view instead of straight into it's face, having an aperture that softens the background (i.e. 2.8 or something alike) making it a very pink subject in a faded green background. Maybe one can easily say anything is good, as long as it's not 'shot from the hip'.

Hi there, nice scenery... one thing though, have you considered waiting or taking a point of view more to the left so as to get the boat more into the open horizon of the water?

Yeah! I hope you deliberately did set the ISO to a high value (like 1600 or maybe even 3200 if that's possible with your camera) and did set it to black and white before actually taking the picture, instead of making an extreme makeover of it in PSP on your desktop afterwards.
On the composition I think I would have liked to have that serpent like line out of the middle, in order to make it more dynamic.

Hi there, I would have tried a more dynamic framing. Something like this:

Hi there, well seen indeed. The only remark I could make is to ask whether you have tried to make the horizontal lines from grid (from the windows) fit with the horizontal lines from the facade in the reflection?

I'd say film still is way ahead of those PSP-ed digital pictures. ;-)
It's just sad the whole world seems to forget such facts that quickly once a hype is born.

Hi Vesna, yeah, great opportunity. The models feet are missing which gives her a sort of unfinished look. Same location and effect but just a close up of her head might even be a stronger picture?

Hi Debra, well seen. Maybe another cropping would make it even more moodier?

Hi Cem, nice image though I'm afraid PSP did a have a lot to do with it (especially the sky). But great none the less.

Hi Donna, yeah it's a sad subject with lots of room for contemplation. Did you consider to take the picture in darker weather/sky? Or maybe even with rain? As to enhance it's mood...

Hi Jhon, Subject is well seen. I would suggest though another cropping, because that guy in the background doesn't have to do anything with the subject nor the story the picture wants to tell, does he?

Hi Mohammed, Very nice lighting and colors. There is just one thing that bothers me in the subject: would you write in a full color printed book?

Hi Brian, yep must have been cold ;-). Have you considered using a fill in flash? Since there was a lot of light and white parts, the darker ones will definitely lose contrast(especially considering the limited contrast range digital camera's have).

Hi there, nice moody landscape. I would suggest to leave out some of those dark parts that don't show anything but black.

Hi there, looks rather well! Good use of flash! The only suggestion I'd have is to crop the whole thing so as not to get the horizon in the middle. The only problem remaining is that electricity line... Another position perhaps?

Hi Teunis, Yep, it's the mill just accross the Berkmeer molen in Obdam. Yet again, I would suggest a different crop, in order to displace the main subject from the middle of the frame.

Tsss... Obdam Alkmaar noemen... Het is trouwens zo'n beetje in m'n achtertuin genomen. De molenaar heet Arie. In mijn portfolio zul je hem herkennen als de molen in de vroege ochtend sneeuw.
