All of the suggestions make their point, but I also like the original dark image leaving some to the imagination. Del.

Okay, my turn to have a go. I love this shot!! Great mood and feeling. Love the upward glance, very dreamy. Bummer your batteries died..."note to self...bring spare batteries!!" Here is one I played with a bit.

Hi Samantha. Nice try but I think it is a bit dark. I've had a quick 10 min play around in PS and lightened it up for you a bit. The steps I went through were:
1. Adjust levels to lighten the entire image slightly and bring out a bit more detail
2. Created a selection around you and lightened that further to make you stand out a little more
3. Inverted the selection around you and applied a small amount of gaussian blur to remove a little detail from the background. It also has the effect of creating a very slight halo around you giving a slightly ethereal feel.
What do you think? Hope you don't mind my messing with your image?

Regards,

Alastair

This is very funny. I think you could try playing around with this theme a bit more. Maybe choose a plane white or black background and have the lone piece of lego. I like how it is backlit with the big shadow. You could maybe try a still life of pen and paper...with blank paper...no imagination...or title it 'Drawing a Blank' hmmm I think I may play around with this title!!

What a lot of berries, I have noticed there are such a lot this year, the 'old wives tale' is that it means it is going to be a very cold winter!!! Great composition

Nice control of exposure in this chilly backlit scene! Not sure if I like the addition of the man-made fence in on otherwise nature scene. It does make for interesting shadows though.

Welcome to usefilm, Samantha, I really like this, where abouts are you from to have got this much snow. We have had very heavy frosts over Christmas but no snow. Certainly worth getting up early for.
