This is a great shot. The textures of the waves and all the shades of blue make it an engaging image. Looks like a nice tonal range as well. T.

Very pretty shot! The composition is great. I bet the pilots would LOVE to have a copy of this one for their wall. There is a little blur, buT SO what. A very special capture. T.

Wow. It is just amazing to me what these pilots do. I am a hangglider pilot, and people often ask me how I can do something so dangerous. But when I fly, I get to check every nut, bolt and guide wire before I take off. These pilots are at the mercy of so many people who also need to get things right. There is so much courage and talent involved that it boggles my mind. T.

Yeah, I wasnt completely prepared for this picture. In the finished product, it was in the deep lower left corner of the frame. I chose to crop away most of the sky in hopes of "evening" it out a little.

Thanks, I will have to check into that. I am a little new to the software (PS in particular) and have been playing with them a little, but find them to be about as tricky as handling snakes, lol. But thank you.

Les - this is really a good image. The boat/ship? is well placed in the image. While usually a 50/50 sea/sky composition is not good, the close tones work well here. Besides, the wake serves to do the seperation for you. Sailing forth into the unknown is a good metaphor. You might lookinto filtering software such as "neat image" to smooth the sky and reduce noise. Good job - JB

Really nice shot.. nice focus, and I really like the way the sidewinder stands out. Only problem is overly tight focus... you know the rule of leaving extra space at the place where the object is pointing (that + the tail is cut off). Good job.. I wish I had a chance like that.

Some of the most capticationg views you can imagine are out at sea. The usual smog and atmospheric "pollution" that you may find on land, is absent. It allows slightly different colors to come out.

Your comments are greatly appreciated. I am a little regretful that this picture had to be downsized, for it had some really amazing detail in its original size. Since reading all of your views, I am rather tempted to put a few more like it up, now. Once again, thank you.

Thank you, both. I decided not to crop out the water because I liked the openness of it all. That is something that being on the ocean gives in abundance, that you cant truly conceive in a single photograph.
