Wow, I like your picture very much! Perfect sharpness, wonderful colors! Did you shoot it from a running car? If so, it's even more perfect.
According to my taste, I would have cropped about 1/3 of the road, to make this lovely picture even the more 'colorful'...

Well, first of all congratulations on resisting the temptation to over sharpen. The slight fuzziness of the closest ears must have made you want to. I don't know whether your camera would have allowed you to use a smaller aperture and a higher shutter speed, which could have given you all the depth of focus you needed. These's a nice long range of tones, too. Perhaps the more distant trees and clouds might have been lightened a tad? I only say that because the brightest parts of the clouds still seem slightly off-white. The foreground grasses are quite perfect, though. B&W is fun, isn't it!

Interesting that the vertical view should have the clouds standing out so much clearer against the blue sky. I like the rhythm of the different bands of colour running up the long dimension of the shot, so I prefer this orientation of the two you've uploaded.
