Interesting thought, Knut, thanks. I tend not to think in B&W terms but would like to start. What do you thing of the attached? Andrew

Nice composition with all the artificial forms and then a boy in the midst of them as a contrast. Maybe it would be even better in BW as the blue sky takes focus from the abstract forms.

Like it! A fresh perspective (literally and metaphorically) on a familiar theme. Captures the straightforward pleasure of enjoying spring flowers perfectly.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could just move anything in our way to make the better photo? Yes, it would have been nicer without last-year's reeds sticking up - why couldn't they just cooperate and break off below the water level? That being said... the reflections in the water are lovely, and the hen and chicks add some interest. Not an award winning shot, but pleasant!

Thanks. Interesting point. I have been back to the same place in the daytime and again by moonlight to have another go - this time on film. I like the basic shape. Exposure is a bit of a problem since the meter on my K1000 doesn't work in the dark! I haven't developed the film yet.

the gradient blue color in the sky and water is very pretty; also the curve of the stairs is lovely!

Welcome to UF Andrew. I don't mind simplicity, but there is a lack of details. BTW, I like the colors.

I like to go for simplicity, but maybe this is too simple? - Andrew.
