Beautiful photograph, it has the feel of a Robert Doisneau image. Even though the background might be considered busy, the street scene adds some energy and excitement to this romantic moment.

awesome shot Jason...the background is well out of focus so not to take away from the bride and groom...the sepia tone is an excellent touch...

Really like this one. I like the sense of place, and the contrast between the hard lines of the concrete and the soft lines of the model. I think this would have been improved with a little more DOF. I find my eyes wandering down to her tummy (whose wouldn't?) and it's just a bit too soft.

The dress together with her look make this work. There are a couple of distractions concerning the lighting, for example her eye is a bit in the shadow... but still I like this photo, something between 7 and 8?

Well well well!!! yes one could say that the heavy foliage behind her is distracting. I think maybe larger aperture could have helped but not necesarily as the shape of the background is that of an eye, in which the iris and the pupil are the girls head. The foliage makes for a beatifull composition, so if you should have used different aperture settings you should also think of the consequences for this background. It's a nice photo... her expression tends to be lost in the shadow though, I think thats the main problem.

Good thing no flash was allowed it would have taken away from the incredible natural lighting that is on the stage. The guys expression is cool and the way his hair is in his face shows he has been rocking or is ready to. Nice job.

Thanks for the comments Julien !! The white edges are Usefilm borders but I definitely agree that the current crop is less than spectacular. If I have additional prints made, they will definitely be full frame. I actually have images of this model the I prefer but the areas of rick black cause my scanner all sorts of problems and cleaning them up is very time consuming. I think the other images have the expression that you were looking for... Thanks !! JCB

Thought I'd just add that I did read that the feet are nog included because of the paper size... What if you print it smaller and crop the white edges?

Well I have been away for the weekend and I have 410 new images to go through. I'll only comment on the ones I find really interesting and this is the first on in that row.

The setting and the pose are good. As well as the compositiong. I think her expression could be better though. A great smile or something more intruiging or explicit. Here her expression doesnt really tell me anything and doesnt make for a connection between the pose and the context... I think her expression could be elementaire for the story. Maybe there is no story though...

I also think the framing could be better, I really have a problem with feet that are left out of the frame, in a way that doesnt really help the photo... as here IMO.

Well I hope this was of some use! :-)

Regards,
Julien

It seems that her feet and legs are perfectly sharp whereas her head isn't I think that's a pitty. But this is still a nice photo because of the location and the pose.

I like the mood and textures here. I would conservatively prefer extreme sharpness all the way to enhance these textures. regards.

This definitely isn't boring! I like the expression on him, but with her, it makes her mouth and neck look too awkward. Being a woman, I wouldn't want a wedding photo of me looking quite so awkward. But hey, if they liked it, then it doesn't matter what I think!

jason, i love the colours and tones you used in this picture. the earth coiours (brown, the light green and the golden hair and skin ) compliment one another perfectly. also the reds on the left hand side allow the eye to move back and forth between the colours. also the smooth texture of the tree and her face compliment each other. all in all, excellent shot.
