WOW Ann..! The composition is so rich in colour and chockerblock full of details. Well done to you sweetie. The storyline is great on this as well, very interesting facts. Why is it that so many of the World's endangered species find the most awkward of locations to go for their chances of survival. Well shot sweet Ann, best wishes to you....a big hug from Ray

Truly interesting this place, in a so wild nature to find a river with limpid waters therefore is absolutely strange. The photo is much beautiful and the colors saturate are much pleasant, appeal to also the second photo to me, beautifulst also this.

Hey Ann! When didyou post this DV picture? I must have been asleep at the wheel (er, keyboard) today! Wow, that's one area I haven't seen, gorgeous landscape and yes, the colors are like that, I can testify with my own pictures! So no pupfish omlette, eh? Sorry, I had to say that.I know it's an endangered species from the National Park literature. Even flowers in DV are an endangered species. You know this story? I wanted to take a picture of a black rock, and it had a daisy stuck in it by someone. I thought I'd remove it because it looked odd in the picture. So I take it and throw it to the ground. Seconds later, this dialogue "No officer, I didn't pull that flower from the ground, I know, it was put there by somebody else...blah-blah-blah" - I almost got fined Love the water and winding boardwalk leading the eye to the arrid hills and the 2/3 composition! Cheers, Ina

A few people did note the similarty to the female form here Dennis. One even said something about a bra.
Thanks for dropping by.
By the way....the most spectacular of these shots is the one titled Bridge over Frozen Falls. (or something like that - haha)
It's a closer look at the bridge with the ice seen closer. Quite the sight.

Thanks Dennis for your great comment. Yes I have 3 photos of frozen waterfalls in my portfolio here. 2 of them are of this same waterfall - Multnomah Falls. It's quite the sight to see them frozen. Go check them out if you like.

You picked the perfect shutter speed to capture this beautiful waterfall scene Ann. Do you have some shots of this area frozen or semi frozen? I'll bet it looks super moody on a misty/foggy day! Andre

Great! Nicely saturated colours and the misty water curtains give the photo a very warm feel. Add the flowers framing the subject and the effect is to belie the ruggedness of the falls. Indeed another mood altogether! Keep them coming. Eb

Dear Ann, I like desert images and I agree with you that nature IS fascinating! The boardwalk is winding so beautifully and the colours of the dsert are very attractive, mostly earth colours. All sorts of shapes call for attention and the eye is moving all around the photo. A good capture! Thanks for visiting my site so very often and leaving such interesting comments which I like to read. Some give me a diffferent way of looking at my own shots. Best regards, Gabriela

I just moved here Larry and I'm not a spectator sports fan. I know nothing about football or any other sport for that matter. Occasionally I'll hear a name and ask my husband what the name means and then he tells me but also you have to remember that not only I'm a visitor to Oregon but also I'm from Australia (been in the states some 6 and a half years) I know I should know but I'm still learning about some American cultural activities. Having said all that, however, I don't drink beer or watch spectator sports in Australia either and that's more or less an Australian staple. I know - I'm a disgrace to my race. (hehe) Another funny tidbit...I'm also of greek heritage and I don't like olives. (yuk) So I guess I'm a failure all around when it comes to cultural idiosyncrasies. (haha)
Thanks for dropping by and for your comments on my images Larry.

That works quite nicely Don. I thought about strraightening the bridge but I thought it might distort the falls too much so I didn't even bother trying. Attack of the lazies I guess. Thanks for dropping by and taking the time to comment and make the adjustments.

When I look at this Ann, I see two people on the left side of this bridge. It took a while then realized that it was the rock. I thought that they were standing in the mist of the falls. I worked on the bridge a bit. Guess I just like to straighten things. Hope you don't mind.. Don.

Hi Kathy,
Thanks for dropping by.
I hadn't noticed about the softness but I know that some are complaining about having their images oversharpened on the upload. There is an option on the upload page to choose an amount of sharpening (or you can choose none). I always choose none as I prefer to do my own sharpening if any.
Thanks for taking the time to view and comment on my image Kathy. You are about due to upload a new photo. I look forward to your next photo.
Cheers - Ann

Nice line and great colors here, Ann! Also a very interesting about. I agree...nature is fascinating! Is anyone but me noticing that many of the images look very soft in the medium size, but when opened up in large they are totally focused and sharp? This is one of those! I didn't notice that happening before...maybe it's just me! Anyway...nice image! Kathy

OK Hugo you got me!! I'll admit it. I did bump the contrast but only just a tad. Death Valley really does have colour all over it but the distances are so vast you need to post fix a tad to eliminate distance haze. For a desert it even has quite lot of water to be found....if you know where to look for it. Please see attachment on this thread of another image from the same day straight out of the camera.
OK so maybe you need a travel secretary. My forte. HK is first then Tehran then over to Seattle to rent a boat and shoot the city and then DV. That's quite a schedule but "WE" can do it. I will cancel your personal appointments for the rest of the month.
Cheers - Ann
