Very nice horse shot - looks like a nice type and you've caught a lovely expression with pricked ears and nice light. The previous comment is right - he is croup high and it is important with horses, that the front end appears higher than the hind. In training the aim is to 'get the horse off the forehand with a nice high head carriage and engaged hindquarters' - so it is important to accentuate this photographically. A little of the left side could be cropped too to improve composition. On the way to a lovely lovely equine portrait.

Beautiful horse, but the angle of the shot makes his rear end look too high....I do have a few shots of horses myself, go take a look if you care too!!! I do like the detail in the eye of your picture...and the lighting is interesting too!!
