That's not Photoshop just artifacts of too much image compression.
Great image, could be called moondancer ;-) Nice metallic sea, moment. Looks like he's using a shield to defent himself.

I can hear the sound of the crashing wave & feel the spray. The foreground provides just enough room to keep the viewer from feeling overwhelmed. Great shot & composition..

Great photo, sharpness everywhere...
But I thing if you put the horizon line in the up third of the frame it could have more impact. And the surfers are disturbing. If you tried to emphasize the waves, you should get closer to them, and maybe close on the waves, forgeting the island on the background. Like they said "If the picture is not good enough, it's because you didn't get closer enough".
