Ah, yes, Mary. The sense of motion is there. Where my image fits under the heading "striding" your image is more like "shuffling". Limbo indeed.

Very nice job on this portrait. It fits very well in the project.
It is a very "honest" portrait. I think that is a large part of the appeal.

the dreamy atmosphere is achieved by a slow speed (30 here)and a slight movement of the camera in the direction you want to achieve the effect, a 15 would make it more abstract but still distinguishable, an 8 would be an uneven surface, still interesting (the room was lit with electricity, in Meterora and I shot from a tiny window). the slower the speed the more distorted the image is.
