Konstantin, six by sis bulls are very common in the park. They have learned its a safe haven for them with abundant cows. Not uncommon to see harems of 30 or more per bull. This was the middle of the rut and towards evening if you settle into a trail that borders the meadows you can hear them calling and find a place to set up to intercept them. Burned foreground was because this scene happened suddenly and lasted for 3 quick shots. Got what I got :-D

The 6 pointer! Are these a common site? You've burned the foreground, though lol What a beast! Rutting? Did you have to stalk in order to get closer, James?
Cheers, C.

Appreciated Clay ! Very minor touchup in PS and NikonView, getting much needed experience with both. Tried like crazy to get the reflection out on the upper left of his head, but i just don't know how. Im just glad it came out like it did !

Thank you Paul ! Light and color were up to Mother Nature. Got lucky shooting through glass on a high key day, a good challenge to learn from. One of my favorite animals.

Im with ya there Clay. My goal that day was to capture as much detail as possible while still capturing them in the natural setting. Lots of waiting and wandering around for the right light, position, background, etc while not disturbing the animals. Dang Bulls are very active herding the cows, so just a shutter click and its something totally different. I wasn't too thrilled with the full image - too much bland color - so i decided this crop kept all the elements together well enough.
