oh. So sad a picture.
Were these taken in captivity or in the wild?
I have never seen a fox family in the wild!

Great shot with excellent details.
You can tell the middle one has issues due to his posture.

Great colors and tones, Fred. The photo comes across like a fine bird print. I don't think I would change anything. Well done!

Dave: He/she gave me a tussle. This is one of about 12 frames I shot. The bird did not come around frequently today. Usually they prefer the peanut butter but this one liked the black sunflower seed this time.

Joe: The Better Beamer device extends the range of the flash by a stop or two. It mostly helps it to recycle quickly. This is a full-frame capture as the birds are less than ten feet away on our deck so the flash works well even without the extender device. Thanks for your kind remarks on this pretty boy.

Dave: Thanks for the kind words. This was a grab shot as the bird did not stay on the stick for long. It was good to be doing the "Back Deck" series again. We are waiting for the migrants to come through so we can send them on up to you.

Guy: I think you have a Ruby-Crowned Kinglet there. They are widespread in North America although we don't get them in the mountains here. You caught this little male with his crest up. It's hard without the crest erected to tell what they are.

Beautiful goldfinch, excellent capture, very sharp, beautiful colours, the flash does an excellent job of lighting these guys, I've got to try that if I get close enough. :)))

Joe

Fred - can you help me identify this bird? At first I thought it was a chickadee but then noticed he had a red crown on his head. Not sure what it is.
Thanks, Guy

Well Fred I'm very impressed with your bird photos. All are extremely well done. My grand-daughter just loves birds and when she comes for a visit she wants to see pictures of them on the computer. I always go to your portfolio as I know she will see quality pictures of birds. Thanks for sharing and putting a smile on Arleigh's little face. (she's 2 years old)
