Like I said in the "About" section, I am simply learning photoshop and discovering all the fun things that it can do. I don't see the DOF as a problem because this was not about DOF. The image was cut in half then flipped and the two were pieced together. I am very proud of the detail of the flower which by the way was shot with a macro and the plain fact that I have learned some of the many components of photoshop.
Also, there is nothing wrong with symmetry. I am learning and having fun. To me, that's what it's all about.
P.S. Did you miss the beast?

The problem is the too short DOF. The part of the flower situated in front should have been as sharp as the rest.
I'm disappointed too by the too visible photoshop symetry...

i would also cut off the right wall, however besides that bit of a detail, fantastic! i love how even the little girl's whisps of hair are outlined!
