Great cabin shot, I like B&W to accentuate the age.

I'll vote the B&W. I think it really adds to the atmosphere. The sepia tone you used really gives it a feeling of age as well.

Nice Picture...I also enjoy pictures of old buildings and barns. I was curious who left their blue jeans on the right side over there?

A belated welcome to Usefilm, Donald. I like this photo. That could almost pass for a rain forest. It looks so lush with those deep greens. I see no one explained the jpeg thing to you. Here is my explanation in a nutshell: The more a photo is jpeg compressed the more it loses in detail. Right clicking on this one and reading the properties shows it has been compressed to 37.9kb. Your photo is posted as a 480x640 pixel size, which is a good size for viewing but you should probably set the jpeg compression to around 80 to 90kb. Usefilm allows 300kb for uploads and that's o.k. for folks that have broadband service(like me), but for dial-up service that size file takes awhile to download. I was uploading at just under 300k but after loooking at my portfolio on a dial-up system, I went down to just under 100kb.
Hope this helps,
Jimmy

Really nice shot, Donald. I like that somewhat sepia tone it has. Very good job. I think I see a ghost in that upper left window.:-)lol I'd let the ghosts have this place. It looks as if it could fall apart ar any minute.
Regards,
Jimmy

Greetings, Donald,
I like these old abandoned building shots. Good job on this one. My suggestions: break off that limb that is stinking into the picture from that tree on the left and shot this in b&w. I think the tree itself lends some depth to the shot, so would leave it in.

P.S. I'm just northeast of Monroe - almost in Morehouse Parish.

sandras' right, donald try earlier in the morning or with a partly cloudy day, you know blue skies with white puffy clouds shot in vertical format. or a foggy gloomy day. it's stil a very good shot.

Hi Donald,
Thanks for the info about the Chevrolet Pickup, I think you're right, when I took the photo, I checked the licence, I just remembered 19X9, so I thought it might be 1959, I didn't recognize this pickup is that old, it's in excellent condition. When I look at your Old House photo, I do have a strong feeling of cold and lonely, so you have made it. A great shot, well done ...... Continue to upload more photos!
Congrats,

Wow..such big tall green trees!!! I like... Thank you for the comment on 4H bareback riders. No they were not all American Indian they had little wigs on they are from Idaho and we really do not have a large mixture of people here its mostly white. The group stives for safety and oneness with their horses and thats what really shinned thru to me. Welcome to Usefilm it is a great place and I am learning a ton here.

I like the composition on this image Donald. I also like how the dark colors add to the over all feel of the shot.

Greeting Donald,
I like shots of these old building, if only they could talk what a story they would tell, My suggestions would be to change you angle a bit and avoid the trees on the left they tend to distract and draw my eye to the left from your subject, Might consider shoting at different times of day. The play of sun and showdows can help add a dramatic feel to the buildings. The flat white of the sky seem to be working against you. Best Regards, Sandra
