Thanks for all the comments.

Tobiah, I used a Sunpak 555 on the right, and just a little Vivitar 5200 on the left(not enough time to set up anything bigger...). The Vivitar had a light slave on it, and I used a sync cord for the 555 because my cheap radio slaves weren't working then.

As for it being out of focus, it's actually a sharpening issue. The slide is tack sharp, but my sharpening skills in Photoshop are a bit lacking.

Dan,

This looks great! Nice lighting! What kind of flashes are you using? Pocket Wizards too? or Light slaves?

Yeah Center compositions don't work real well alot of times, but I think this looks just fine. The only thing I would have loved to have seen is Jame's deck more parrelell to the ground. Suck up them knees boy!
Other wise it looks great, nice big gap, great capture, great lighting!

Cheers,
Toby

Yes this turned out very well. Striking composition and really well spotted. Just curious... what was the main ambient light?

Great job in capturing this sequence.

In regard to the flash comment, keep in mind, dance competitions do not allow flash photography simply because they could be hurt while the flash has temporarily given them spots in their eyes. I think the same thing may apply here.

You did just great.

Regards.

Dan,

This is great! Love the fisheye curvature of the lights. The diaganol that leads you up to the rider is wonderful. Exposure looks spot on, as the rider is in black but you can still make out what he's wearing.

The only thing I can comment negatively on is that this kind of looks as though this might be a nose or tail slide rather than a blunt, but thats the way it goes sometimes.

NICE photo!

Cheers,
Toby

Dan,

I see you've made the big step up to the Mark II. Congrats. I like this sequence very much, but am unsure if the general idea of this spot and trick couldn't have been created just as well with a single frame and lit up with flash. In any regard, its a nice capture.

Thanks for the comments. Sadly, it's not my camera. I was able to borrow it for a while from a Canon rep, but now it's gone. I'll get one eventually...

Dan,

These are always hard to get. I saw a great display here in Milwaukee a few days ago. Crazy stuff.

Is that a new camera you're shooting with? Love to see some more skate photos coming from it.

Cheers

Dan...
This is great... wonderful choice of lens, and not too much distortion. Great lighting with, from what I can tell, two remote flashes. And what a trick... the fisheye might make it look a little bigger than it really is. But Fakie transfers are one of those under rated tricks that don't get props enough... especially this one. From one size ramp with one type of tranny to another size ramp with a completely different type of tranny. GOOD STUFF... Keep it comming...

Cheers,
Toby
