Well done but it's miss an artistic approach to the composition. Maybe a different POV could be used.

I like this, it has form and interest, strong lines of direction, the poise of the skater agrees with whole composition, not an easy shot either, did you 'put' the skater there or did she just rocket off the top of the steps!!?....I have enjoyed this whatever you did, well done Dan. cheers, david.

Hi Dan, spectacular action shot, the wide angle lens serves you well here, as it creates a helluva perspective, as well as emphasises the altitude. Very well captured; the fill flash (I presume) re-creates a strong feel of motion, resulting in a very powerful and dynamic photo. Good stuff!
Not sure about the shadow of the rail, although it compliments with the line in the ceiling, it also introduces a minor distraction.
Cheers,
Hugo

Great action shot from a great point of view, made all the more difficult by being shot at night. The lighting is effective (car headlights?) except I find the shadow on the left side of the guy's face a little distracting. John

Nice action shot, Dan! Great stop of the action and lighting! I thought I recognized the background when I was scrolling through, I used to go to a barber shop in that mall! Welcome to UF! Dave.

I'm so used to seeing shots at dusk with 3 strobes set up that when I see a shot like this taken in natural light in the middle of the day, I dont know what to think. I think the square cropping makes this shot look strange to me.

Thanks for the comments Jeff.
It's one flash off to the right, and I agree with you, could've used a slightly different f-stop. I was using the LCD fo rchecking the exposure, and those things aren't always 100% accurate.

good timing... is that your flash or just wierd natural light? if it was your flash, possibly f/4 was needed to make it a little brighter... just seems like a lack of contrast to me... nice snag tho.

Good job on this one. She may have to work on her pose but I like the overall composition and the background gradualy turning from light to dark. I think she will be glad to have this shot in her photo album.

Tobiah - his arm was there during the whole trick, no jokes. right from when he started the 180, till when he landed. only way to take it with his face would've been straight on, and that wouldn't have been any good.
Thanks for commenting.
