Thank you Urs, I appreciate your comment very much. But I don't understand the phrase "blow out".

A lovely, melancholic picture, indeed! I like it, even if it is blown out a little bit, to my opinion. Verx good idea, and very well presented. Best wishes, Urs

Kay, Thank you for your kind words like always. Sounds like good idea, i will try 2.0 next time. 300d can go 1600, but at that level the pics are not very usable.

I like the ambiance of this. Makes you feel the mood in the darkly lit room and her contemplating whatever it is she is thinking about. Glad to see you posting more, Paul. Don't give up on digital! If you had taken that 50 mm down to 2.0, it would have been brighter and sharper. Can the 300D go higher than 800 on iso? Even higher might work too.

How can you ever get tired of digital, Paul? I love love love it! I used to love film too. Maybe go with an easy p&s digital camera like the fuji or something? Adorable capture of sweet Veronika. Hard to believe she is so much older now. She is beautiful!

I agree, sometimes I prefer film also. But it make s it easier to take photos in digital format and select afterwards which pictures are good or not. Before you had to develope the film and had to wait and pay for it. Also is the play with PS sometimes very exciting. But in all this is a very cute capture. Wish you all the best. Cheers Sascha

Thank you very much for you kind words. I watched your works though only three, but very impressive. I think I should take more seriously in portrait photography. Maybe I should get a 35/2 lens as soon as possible.

THank you Angie for your kind comment, you shoot wonderful pictures at such an age already, which is very admirable. lens is not that important, just happy shooting. in case you need a fast lens, the 50mm/1.8 II is a great one, which is very inexpensive. at future times of adding lenses, you will find wide angle lenses much much more useful than other ones.

Kay, thank you a million for your immediate reply and compliment - I was one foot in America for post gradutate study 15 years ago but for the sake of love I gave up totally my biology - people laughed at me, but I am so grateful that God helped me to make one of the most important decisions of my life. I am not a biologist anymore, but a pround and happy husband and father of 3 great daughters.

I agree with you, it is simple, there is no sun, it is close to the noon so it is not an ideal time to shoot. Since I grew up in a city and come from another country and culture, this scene was so exotic and interesting for me to push the shutter. I do appreciate your comment. Thank you!
