Steve, nicely done. I've actually been working on something similar in b&w. I'm going to guess from the colour of this that you took it later in the day or early in the morning. Very nice timing on the light. There's something sticking up in the middle that looks somewhat like a streetlight pole that distracts somewhat.

Very well exposed. The water drops definitely add interest. The bulls-eyed composition; however, creates a very static image that lacks any dyamic interest. For centred or nearly centred compositions to work, I think they need to be much more frame-filling. The viewer needs to sense that they are right inside the flower.

The texture is quite good. You've got some exposure problems in the lower right. The lighting looks fairly strong and harsh which also creates some fairly deep shadows. The halo around the blossoms almost gives the appearance of it being oversharpened.

This is a very nice image using this technique. It's a technique I use often myself. How many shots on the frame in this one?
The composition needs to be cleaned up a little. The fence in the background is distracting and there's too much emtpy space around the patch of flowers. I find these shots work best when the frame is filled with colour with little or no empty space. The stems of the plants also create a good deal of empty space.
Here's a website you might look into, www.freemanpatterson.com. He also has a book called Photoimpressionism and the Subjective Image.
