Very well seen. It might work better without the dark coat in the foreground on the right.

Nice catch! Reminds me of the long prayers I dozed through in Methodist boarding school :-)

:-) I knew that one would catch your attention. We spent three cold and intermittently rainy days in Paris last Nov while my son was attending one term of classes there - "study abroad" is what the colleges here call that. The sun came out on the last morning, though. so, some more pictures from Paris will follow.

Also, do check out the birds of Costa Rica. A few more of those too will follow. Also, some butterflies and flowers and other odds and ends.

Love the composition and the light. It looks as if the sun is almost directly overhead - mid-day? - but you've handled it very well.

This is a magnificent animal, rather lighter hued and less hirsute than I thought it would be.

Very nice shot. Thanks for sharing this. This is indeed one of the greatest archaeological finds of the last century. These were intended to guard the burial site of the first emperor to unite China. The actual tomb is yet to be located in the complex.
Also amazing is the story of how a visiting American scientist found the cure for the fungus that was invading the images after they were unearthed.

Great portrait. The chain around the neck is almost perfectly camouflaged. A bit of cropping off the top and the right might improve it even more.

You're right, the fish-eye distortion is barely noticeable. Wonderful shot of a very interesting statue in context. It looks like a sea serpent or dragon confronting a tiger in bamboo grove!
