Yes, the overdosed sharpness and saturation creates an interesting effect! How did it look like in the original.
In my opinion, the ellow framing does not fit this picture, though I'm not sure.

It is great! I don't think it is dark - more light will reveal details and there won't be silhouettes. Moreover, you'd have the bird blurred.
With such an exposure, you have greate saturated colours and perfectly clear picture!

I think I'd change the composition a little bit. Now the bird is almost right in the centre - looks too simple.
