So very moody. A nice catch. Perhaps just a bit of a crop in the foreground? Nicely done.

Imposing composition, terrific light. Most importantly, it looks very different from the standard shot. Excellent stuff!

As a fan of yours for years now, I think I can safely say that while this is subtle, it is among your best.

I was there early this summer... the light hits that old copper roof so beautifully. I couldn't figure out how to capture what I saw in my mind. You did. Lovely work.

Well done, Lis. I like the way you composed here. The two images, neither cropped traditionally, merge together to make quite a statement when viewed together -- and I find it interesting the way the two together create an almost perfect 4x3 image. Well done.

This is a beauty, Win. The highlights are so bright that this approaches an infrared feel. It is fairly remarkable to me that you maintained the detail in the highlights as you did. The new result is a powerful piece. One of the nicest I can remember seeing from you.

I'd really love to be able to achieve something like this.
On a moving train, through a window?
Would you mind sharing a bit of your technique here? I'm sure it's not just the camera helping you achieve this mood.

Hi Ken. An interesting view. I wish that the lower elements felt more a part of the scene. This just seems to end, as opposed to feeling composed. Also, when shooting digital, you may want to try exposing for the highlights and then bring out shadow detail (quite contrary to shooting film) as the highlights will lose all detail when overexposed.
Keep at it.

This is just adorable. Really wonderful mood, and terrific use of limited DOF. The colors really pop without being oversaturated, too. A bit hot in the highlights in a couple of places, but not so much that it detracts too much. Very well done.
