This is a real gem of an image, Earl. The added tonality really gives the portrait added character. This might be a bit stronger, too, if you cropped the top a little, and cropped the right side a bit to better center your subjects. Just my two cents. Simply charming, man.

Thank you Andrew for your comments and suggestions. The original photo is very old and in poor shape. It's my first attempt to restore an old family treasure. The original was an oval, I guess I was trying to get away from the "old" look. I'll post the companion photo of my grandfather, and would appreciate comments on that one as well. Thanks again.

Nice restoration work, although I am not sure about the background. I don't think that it fits in with the time line. I think that if you add some noise to the background so it blends in better with the image of your grandmother it would 'flow' better and not have such contrast between them. Or, if you made an oval around her image and then filled the outside with a gradient dark blue to medium blue then I think it would fit better within the time line her picture was originally taken.

nice image like the moutain peak or mt.Hood. I was up that way last summer and there were forest fires going on and needless to say that ruined my landscapes shot my son who is in the Army also fought those fires.
