Personalmente, trovo la somiglianza dei colori, per quanto non convenzionalmente ortodossa, un punto di forza dell'immagine, nella quale la forza espressiva del pargolo si impone pur senza l'apporto ottico di uno sfondo contrastante.
Comunque non me la sono sentita, sul momento, di mettermi a ridipingere il muro di casa ;-)

I think the "background" is not actually a background and man with dog aren't the (only) subject in the shot. Man with the turban is co-actor in the scene, other people are secondary but not background, even walking man in the traffic lights is significant in the crossing action. Blurring all them with DoF willdecrease their influence in the composition that wants to reproduce a crossing not only a man with his dog.

The man and his dog are interesting but I think that they get lost for two reasons.
1) The background is too busy. Using a smaller f-stop for less DoF would have been helpful.
2) The man (and background) are too grey. This need to be more contrasty.
