Grazie e a presto!

Saluti Tommaso P.s. Quanto tempo è passato da A.B.P.O.!!!

Deathly beautiful!! Very delicate and deeply sad.
I believe that a portrait of a statue is as interesting as a portrait of a human being.
Kind regards!

Thanks a lot for the additional info about the image and its making, Paolo! I know what you talk about. They see some poses in magazines and they think that they have to follow them and be "like him" or "like her". If you search the UF, about 90% of the such images are copies of a normalized look and style that they are eager to follow. That imitating behavior is such a ridiculous awful concept, but apparently they will never stop wanting to be somebody else in their minds.
In this sense it was a great thing that you did this image as you liked to have it. And your decision was good and refreshing. I guess this was the image she liked less from all, ey? ;-) Anyway, keep up doing your thing!
Cheers!
Nick

Hi Paolo!
Thanks a lot for the encouraging words about my comments. I can only be glad if I say something reasonable for photography.
You are completely right. The horizon can get to a real problem, especially when it is formed by contours that may *look* as if the had to be horizontal but may be anything else too. Like for example the shore of the lake here.
As about film development, aren't there any companies doing that where you live? There are pretty many of them around here. And of course I am only glad about that too, since I do prefer film very strongly.
Cheers!
Nick

Dear Nick, this shot was the last one of a series of about 15 photos I have shot for this friend of mine and was the only one in "my style". The other ones were made like the friend wanted. Mostly poses she saw on some magazine The decision of the DoF was mine as well as to keep her right eye in a soft focus!

Nich, thank you a lot for your in deep comments to my photos. Your critiques make Usefilm a even nicer place to stay. It is always very difficult to determine if a photo is skew when the horizon is not clearly well defined but i think that yes, it looks a little tilted! I must also tell you that I miss film very much but I really find difficult to find someone who can develope and print my b/w film photos: though digital cameras have reached great results, i still find these film pictures better than the digital ones!

What else could one wish in terms of atmosphere on this capture? I guess nothing at all! Amazing details and textures, and a toning that transfers the very spirit of the place into the mind of the spectator. I have the feeling that it is slightly skew when I look to the shore at the depth. But this doesn't weaken it at all. The overall look remains strong and a bit of "old-fashioned" too, which brings also a very timeless feel to it.
One image I wish I could see as a huge poster!
Cheers!

A very good portrait in a modern, right "up in your face" composition, and it has also that kind of silent expression that separates portraits from posing. The tonality is very strong! I would say that the DoF should include the whole face, but still the great difference in focus from the face to the shoulder is enhancing it quite a lot! The white-key-like appearance supports very well the fineness of the portrait too.
If I may ask, did you directed her, or rather made a series of shots just as they come?
Cheers!

A very good one both for its atmosphere as also for its composition. I find the grain-like look quite an advantage for its aged appearance in B&W, Paolo! Some small pixelation here and there, but still good sharpness and detail in an even better perspective.
Another one to look in a real big format!
Cheers!
