Yes Elisa, it would be tilting toward the land if it were pushed by the wind. In this case, it's due to erosion because of the unusually high level of the waters.

Hello Elisa. The movement of the water was crunching the ice fragments against themselves, making a very singular noise in an otherwise calm and serene environment. BTW. Winter is gone... we only had one snowfall. The temperature hangs over 0 C - we even had 11 C last Saturday. Grass is green, in January... never seen that.

Bonjour Fabrice.

The setting sun caresses the landscape in a wonderful way. Perfectly composed with the clouds and the pattern of ice & reflections giving the sense of a radiating sun. A very beautiful last minute!

Seeing this really makes me miss the winter. Simple ingredients with the right light can result in a great abstract; very well composed!

Hello Audrey. Thanks for commenting. Your suggestion for a tighter crop rings a bell. Initially, my first rendition was to crop the original 16:9 ratio to a 4:3 one as you can see here http://elf8.smugmug.com/photos/119113396-O.jpg In the one posted here, i opted for the full frame version. I was fighting with the principles of having an odd number of elements in the composition : here 5, with the shrub in the LR corner echoing the leftmost tree.

A real and true B&W? Wow, lucky you.
Christian, as you know I just love cropping everything to a square - but here I turely believe there's a little too much space to the right of the trees, a tighter crop could work? Also wonder maybe additional dash of contrast to the foreground will give more depth to this all white world.

Interesting to see the weak point, and how the fallen has found its place in the dense forest. Very well composed, and a great example of nature´s power.
I wish you a Happy and Prosperous New Year, dear friend!
