Piero, beautiful image! Wonderful warm light from the sun setting and I really like the winding road in the background that mirrors the winding road in the foreground. My only constructive comment - I'm not sure the sliver of burned out sky adds anything to your photo. I would consider eliminating it completely - for me, it makes a stronger image.

Cristiano, thanks for your response! I have used both the Hoya R72 Infrared and the B&W 093 Infrared on my Nikon D1x. Both work extremely well with some Photoshop post processing. However, I would encourage you to get feedback from a D100 user, as different cameras show very different results with these filters. I purchased both filters from B&H Photo in New York City.

Cristiano, looks like you're having a great time with your new 12-24mm. Question - the first 12-24mm image you posted had the buildings totally "square" to the frame. Was that because you were on the bridge, and had the "film plane" parallel to the scene? In this image the buildings definitely lean. Is this because you were at water level and had the camera tilted? This is very interesting use of the 12-24mm, but I like your Accademia Bridge image much better and I'm just trying to understand why. (I recently purchased a 12-24 and am trying to learn from your wonderful images!)Thanks for your beautiful postings!

Lorenzo - amazing sky and perspective. I wish the tree were a little more differentiated from the landscape and the irrigation pipe wasn't there, but if that had been the case, you wouldn't have captured a great image!

Regina, because we both really like this subject, attached is a poor quality version that I took in 1998. I was fortunate enough to recently be in Siena again and was surprised to see the renovation that took place. I think I like the older version better!

Regina, great eye! In fact, I took a similar image without the shadows in May, but it was in Siena in the University of Siena's Department of Mathematics, not in Florence (see attached). I like the shadows and depth of your image.

Skip, beautiful tranquil image. Minor constructive comments - he branch at the top of the frame is distracting to me, but I know others will probably like it. I would have preferred to have seen the top of the eve in the reflection. But overall, a very pleasant image.
