This is very nicely composed, I see you've been busy uploading photos.

Wow! I just saw that one. That is very sharp. The only thing I would say is maybe a little fill flash to get a catch light in the eyes, but otherwise very nice.

Nicole, this is a very different perspective of the bridge. Great DOF.

Where did you take that photo? I like the way the background plant is blurred, but yet you can tell it is the same type of plant.

Thanks for the comments. The image was taken for a long exposure (8 seconds at f/16) with ISO 50 film (slide). The only thing done in PS to it was contrast adjustment and enhance color hue. If you look at the other Chicago photo called "Stormy City Lights" you will see that the two images were shot just seconds apart and that they are very close in color hue and contrast. I try to do as little to each image as possible. I don't know too much about PS anyway.

Thanks for all the nice comments. I couldn't have asked for a better day to take photos at this place.

I'm new to PS. This is a very good shot. I haven't used layers yet. This is a good macro shot.

My thanks goes out to Chris Lauritzen and Elangovan S. (both usefilm.com members) for their information on the fireworks.

It's easy, now, that I know how. I followed the information given from the NYIP website. Someone else on this site put the link in.

Thank you for the comments. The background is one of those happy accidents. It is actually the water that the Lily is potted in. I agree now after seeing it on the web, the leaf (lower right) is abit distracting.

Well, yes actually. This is a one room church from the 1800s time period. This building, like all the buildings in the canyon, were put into this canyon by the owners to recreate an 1800s settlement. If you go to www.communitycourier/heritage_canyon.htm you can see the entire history of the canyon and all its information.

These are the bird's real colors. The background was caused because the bird is being held (teathered) about 8-10 feet from any real background (trees). I used fill flash to catch some light in the eyes. I used negative flash compensation (-1.5) and that causes whatever light there is to drop off from the subject at a tramendous rate. That is why the background goes black. Not my wishes, I wanted the birds to be closer to the natural tree background, but then they try to fly to much. Thanks for the comments.

Well, Chris, I know what you mean about the lighting. This is shot through the window at Brookfield Zoo. The original photo had hardly any light on the left side (viewer's left) at all. I added "fill" light in PS.

WOW!! This is a beautiful lighthouse shot. I finally made it to western Michigan to photograph some of the lighthouses. I got up to Holland, MI. This winter, I plan to go up to Grand Haven with my camera club to get some ice-covered lighthouse shots. I like St Joesph's light and South Haven's. I posted them in my portfolio here in usefilm.com. I like the reflections on the pier at this lighthouse.

Luca, I'm new to the whole scanner/photoshop thing, so any tips, suggestions, or opinions are very much appriciated. I don't think this is a scanner problem (it's brand new). I don't know what caused the bluish tone. I used a polarizer when I took the photo. In PS I got rid of some dust.

Thanks for the comments. The reason the Starbursts are in the photo is because I entered this photo in Shutterbug Magazine's Contest for "using filters", so I used a Cokin Star-8 filter when I took the photo. It is not a Photoshop effect. It did get published in the April 2002 issue.

Actually, this was my first attempt at Photoshop and when I cropped the photo it didn't save the change when I saved the photo. I don't know why it didn't crop it.

It looks a bit too hot. The backlighting IMO is too bright, but I don't have much experience with product photography.
