this is such an interesting capture, hard to imagine why they make mannequins with expressions like his... the highlights on his knees are a bit blown out, but this is such an outstanding composition it makes up for it. disturbs me, I like that in a picture!

parts is parts ... i love it, and it's a difficult thing to pull off here ... nothing really alive, but the image is alive with some emotion and meaning... it feel emotionaly charged... reminds me of one of the masters images like cartier bresson .. or kertesz

Very spooky. What's in the dark? The mood hits you full force in this photo. I really like the barest hint of highlights around the opening at the bottom. Makes the dark interior very ominous.

Oh yes, this is a wonderful perspective -- love it! Also the textures are wonderful. For my eye the contrast here is perfect -- not too much, not too little, and I'll bet it's a lovely print. I don't know about them, but I'll certainly look out for your piano . . .

the location is an old abandoned school house in california. it was a bit scary. the floors were torn up, so you had to be careful were you stepped. it was a one room school house, but there were a bunch of door to closets etc. it was very eerie. i was with someone who didn't really appreciate photography, so i was rushed. if i had it my way i could have spent the afternoon there. keep an eye out for my piano shot.

Excellent work Tanya - real good use of space to create an image that strikes you with its simplicty so powerful ! A bit more sharpness perhaps on the see saw would have given better DOF, but I really like this, nice.
