Chase, I bet you found some other shoots in your download. Just keep posting, we are all working on learning the process. Some good insight from Al as well. It is all good.
Be well and keep them coming, Stan

Chase,
Exposure set you camera on manual let you camera determine the best exposure reading off the brides face. Add a 1/2 stop - 1 stop for the white dress.

The zits, clone them out in photoshop.

Takes time and lot's of shooting !!!!

Al,
In the past I have had some better luck playing with light. That being to much or little for exposure. I have a hard time being consistant though. LOL, wish I could have done more with the zits, but such as life I guess! Oh, and i must have listed the wrong lens, sorry for that. Thanks for all your input.
Best,
Chase

Dad,
I was just calling to let you know I had posted a picture. Didn't want you to have a heart-attack, so I was for warning you.

Well Chase you asked for some input...so in good faith here you go...
First of all if you look at the histogram, you'll see that this image has a little more than half of what it needs in exposure. Second, she has a lovely face with a happy smile, but I would clean up her skin. Get rid of the two pinples that look like a blinking neon sign that says "Look at Me". Third, shoot RAW, get Lightroom and process your images there before fine tunning them in Photoshop. With Lightroom , you would be able to bring in the exposure you need (don't misunderstand me, getting it right in the camera is always best), bring in detail in the dark area on the side of her head which is lost all the while retaining detail in her dress that for a wedding dress is so very important. By shooting jpeg instead of RAW you are losing more than half you data.
Also had do you use a Nikon Lens with a Canon Camera?

Chase,

Saw where you called last night. I had the phone on the charger. I got a e-mail from Stan this morning telling me you did a post. Congrats on the shot. Maybe a touch more light, but this is good. She seems to have a good tan going on, which is a bit tricky, but overall it's very good.

Love,

Dad

Hi Chase, I try to learn a little every day. I did some one light portraits in a hall of a beauty shop a few weeks ago. I tried to keep it simple. Here was one of them.
Be well, Stan

Stan,
Thank you sir, I could have used a little more light and then made it softer in PS. It's all a learning experience right?!
Best,
Chase

Stan,
Thank you! I was shaving and the razor broke as i was trying to finish up my chin. I had much time for selfs over that summer. Dad wasn't liking the shaved head but got over it. Thanks again and have a good one.

Hi Chase, really like the crystal clear spot on focus of the eyes with catch light! Your tones are great in this as is the composition. Looks like you missed a spot on your chin. the textures of sweater and background are also very well captured. Be well and so good to meet your image after hearing so much about you. Your Dad is very proud of you!
My best to you, Stan

This shot made me laugh, Chase, it's well seen and captured. I wondered what focal length you had to use to get it, were you at the full 300mm? To my eye, the best part of it is the face and paw, and I wondered whether some cropping might make it stronger. I've taken the liberty of experimenting - what do you think?

Chase,

This is only something "Chase" could capture. His mind works in a different fashion than most. He is a "Genius" in my opinion regarding "Photography" and this shot proves it all day long...
