I certainly noticed the same thing. No matter which temple I went to, I always found myself staring at the intricate patterns appearing everywhere - from the architecture right down to the decorations.
I found this wall to be particularly impressive, it stretched on and on and on around a huge park. I wanted to walk the whole way around and take more photos, but some snarling dogs stopped me at the corner seen in this photo. Having been bitten my first week in Thailand, I didn't want to take any chances. 
Thanks again, and I love that photo at the Grand Palace - excellent composition and color.
