About Late afternoon, these two eagles looked like they were gazing into each other's eyes......1/1000@5.6, ISO 400.

Should I have cloned out the branches at the bottom, I left them in because I thougt they added something but what do you think?

Agree with you Darlene, had a nice DOF to that pic. REal nice sun warm light on these two guys. Another big big hit... as always.

I hate to go against the tide, but seeing both the original and cloned versions, I'd opt for the original. The blurred branch adds needed DoF; remove it, and the image becomes flat. I do like the panoramic format, though.

Another beautiful capture, Darlene...gorgeous lighting and detail, as always.

I love this Darlene, they really are gazing at each other or engrossed in a bit gossip. I like the shot as it is but it would have been interesting to see cloning and/or healing brush used as an alternative. Best wishes my love.Ray.
(I am still so far behind....but I will catch up)

Thanks so much Jim! And yeah, a 1200 would have been better but had to use the 600! What noise reduction software do you use? And I guess I should have cloned out the branch, I do appreciate all the feedback, that's how I learn! Happy Thanksgiving! Darlene

The'll be there. or at least near by. They tend to have there favorite roosts. I'm going out saturday. The pair I studied last winter, I haven't seen back yet.. Hmmm, Makes me wonder. However, I have seen others. The eagles are easier here in South Dakota once the water gets some Ice on it. Then the tend to be where the open water is. It sort makes it easier....

Have a great Turky Day!! Go Cowboys!! :-)

Thanks for the suggestions Pat, I will try it in pano and crop out the "extras!" Maybe post another version later although I'm hoping these guys are still where they were because I plan on checking them out again in the next couple of days! Darlene

I might have attemted to remove the out of focus branch. That is the good thing about post production, If you do it and it doesn't work then you can out it back.

I might have also cropped out the white space at the top. I bet it would look good in a pano box.

It's a little tough where the two branches cross but, with a little paintence I think it could be done.

Darlene,

I vote the branches off the island. Don't change the crop though.

Superb as always, my friend.

Beautiful image Darlene! They seem to be saying "What should we do today". Awesome work! As for the branch, take it out.

Hi Darlene, superb capture! To answer your question in the "about" - Yes, I would definitely clone that branch out, or blur it into the background - it doesn't add interest to the picture, although it has a good direction, but I'm not a "purist" in the photographic sense, as to keep everything straight out of the camera.

Darlene,
Well captured, a wondeful image. Since you asked, I would crop out the lower branch.
Regards

Beautiful photograph, especially in the warm sunlight. Personally I would clone out the branch, it does take your eye away from the eagles. I'm still jelous of such a great photo!

hehe thats a funny one. It reminds me of the movie Jungle Book. They way they seem to look at each other is what makes this shot in my eyes.

Yes the blury branch could be gone (should be easy to do).

Hello Darlene,
Another great picture, I think my preference would be to take it out but I do like the unedited version.

I'd clone the bottom branch. It's a shame you went with such a small lens. A 1200mm would have been the way to go. LOL I'm sure like I do you keep one in the trunk of your car. Amazing sharpness and reach of the 600mm. Beautiful lighting. I would recommend using some noise reduction software on your image. I'm seeing some chrominance noise in the brown feathers. It can easily be addressed. Beautiful capture.

These are a cute pair. I think I'll have to vote to have the branch taken out as it is kind of a distraction. I don't think I would crop it though.
Happy Holidays to you and yours my friend.

I like your eagle shots alot. I wish I was closer to where they nest. I've only had a couple of times to photograph them. The most beautiful birds. I like the branch in the background. ButI would crop it a little bit.

This shot just reminded me that the eagles will be back to our part of the world soon. I love to watch them! They are amazing birds!
At first I thought no about cloning out the branches, but it might be cool if the only branch in the shot is the one they are sitting on. I would like it either way!
Kathy
