Top Notch! I think the third lamp being out is the absolute finishing touch.... Too perfect otherwise. This is just pure gold, Gayle! Don't change a thing, Print this one, frame it, sit back and be proud. Be very proud...:)
Cheers,
Hugo

Hi Gayle, I was just going through your portfolio when this one caught my eye. It reminded me of the movie "Sleeping with the Enemy" with Julia Roberts. There was a scene where she had broken one of the lights. I love the colours in this image and I like the moon right where it is. OK... sooo.....better late than never. Cheers - Ann :)

..very cool. Gayle...had to look twice to see the Needle..shame on me - I have to wear my glasses more (vanity)...as you say about the 3rd light but then again perhaps it brings the eye to the Needle...K

If you tell it to remove ALL noise, Neat Image can give some funky unexpected softness, but I've found that when I tell it to remove only half the noise, it does a perfect job of eliminating visible noise, without affecting anything else. I highly recommend it!
Even better, I was upgrading to the newest version, and realized there are specific profiles for my 20D, and they rock! It is now smart enough to load in a profile based on the ISO setting I used for that shot, so I can click to let it automatically find a good reference target in the image free of detail, analyze it, and as soon as that happens, I can then choose some basic options (remove all noise, remove half of the noise, filter and sharpen) and click apply, and I'm done. It has a stand-alone interface, but I mostly invoke it from within Photoshop as a plug-in.
The benefit to the stand-alone version is that you can batch process many images in one session.

Excellent composition! The third lamp being out works just fine for me - transitions nicely to the silhouette of the Space Needle.

hi and thanks for your enthusiasm,Brad! Am sorry to say that none of my images are printed/framed thus far since i don't have anything set up for that just yet.....the exception being the higher resolution files i sell to others who print them from whatever source and then hang...

I am not fond of the blurring that the filter induced, Gayle. There are much more efficient ways to reduce grain and noise (I regularly use Neat Image software, but there are a lot of packages designed with that one function in mind).
I AM fond of the lighting, exposure, framing and I also just LOVE the needle peeking into the shot! Overall, very nicely seen and captured, girl.

It's sort of sad you have to tell people you didn't paste the moon in there. Often natural scenes present themselves that look too good to be true. This is one of them. But you improved even that with your excellent composition and perfect exposure. You have enviable skills.

Great shot! Nothing wrong here, IMHO.

Holy SH_ _!!! This is a textbook composition... That third light being "out" is perfect, Gayle! The sky is so rich and soft and gooey. The fence on the bottom..the moon in the upper corner... the strong criss-cross of the horizontal clouds vs. the vertical lampposts... this image had better be framed by now! ..Brad

Just love this one. The third lamp being out is no problem, that?s the way it usually is in real life :) Stunning mood, so well composed (the moon is just cool where it is, surrounded by almost complete darkness)!

Naw, I think the moon is in a good spot (almost makes a perfect triangle) The 3rd light being out works well too. Whole shot works very well. I like the way it turned out all around - very nice, Mark

hi and thanks,Josh! very clever of you to see the mimic shape of the needle with the lamps! as per the moon, when i first saw my image,i thought dang!,the moon is too far to one side, but then the more i looked at it,the more i liked it just the way it was!

Superb shot Gayle. I love how the space needle mimicks the shape of the lights. The moon looks amazing BTW. It looks so perfectly real, but at the same time, it looks fake because it is such a genuinely perfect scene that is so rare and surprising. I love it. Well done...
