I think there is something wrong in conditioning people to see only the negative. You daughter has a good way to look at things. Give her a hug for me Joggie.

Hi Ellen - Thanks very much for your comment. I'm glad you like the photograph and even made it a favourite! Just shows one how interesting photography can be: I appreciated and uploaded it because i know what the original looks like and what it took to get it here, Gustav sees the potential but from a technical perspective I must agree with him - this can be much better when one start with a good quality image. Lastly, you have another perspective (much like Lieze my daughter) and may look at the photo as a whole and like it, regardless the shortcomings. It's true - beauty is in the eye of the beholder! Taake care. Joggie

Maybe it's a sign that I'm new to this but I really like this image as is. I think the pose and make up are age appropriate and I like the choice of surroundings and clothing. I'm really impressed with this and I'm putting it in my favs.

Out of the two Lieze photos so far - I like the pose, light and background in this one the best - but don't like the texture!

Hi Joggie! I have seen you are experimenting a bit with photosoftware lately. This photo of your daughter is very good on lighting and the intended softness enhances this portred.Your previous Lieze photo was without the texturizer and i my opinion it is the better of the two.The horizontal lines in the photo are a bit to visible. But experimenting makes photography more interesting and fun!

Hi Gustav - Thanks for the very honest comment. I can assure you I appreciates it more than the anything. You are absolutely right about the technical side of the photo. I pushed the abilities of the camera to its limit (perhaps over!). The ISO was 1600 and combined with the low shutter speed caused a lot of noise. Normally I only use PS to adjust contrast and brightness and a bit of sharpening. Please see this as an experiment - this was a first, last minute shoot to try out the angles and settings at the location and my first try at more formal (posed) portraiture - so please bear with me and keep sending your opinion. Kind regards. Joggie

Hello Joggie, charming young lady with a very photogenic face. I am very sorry to say that this is not a very good portrait as far as the technical result is concerned.Far too noisy and NO sharpness anywhere in this picture. The lighting is very nice but owing to the relatively long exposure time and the high ISO setting ( I presume) + texturiser/canvas it is not up to your standard of photography. I do sincerely hope not to offend you with my honest opinion and comment. Hoping to see another portrait of this fine looking young person as natural as possible. Best regards, Gustav
