Very good photograph. If you would like to participate in the exposition of photographs “Through the spider’s web”, please send us a blank e-mail using "spiders" as the subject, so that we could forward you further information.

This is really neat! I love the way he is crawling out of his frame - and he looks so real - he's just popping out of my screen.

Well done! I hate spiders! This one is no expception but, I have to say he was a great subject! You should make notecards using different insects.
What program do you use?

OK - that's just not right to find in anyone's apartment! And someone suggested this as stationary! yikes! I don't think I'd ever pick up the card or dare open it -ha! Really great effect - there are many ways you could have done this photo and it wouldn't have had the same impact- perfect job and I don't mind the slight blur (geesh, it's a fuzzy spider)!

What a great and clever idea. Love it. Also think you're very clever to be able to make your own extension tubes. Thrifty, too. Cheers, Ann.

Lol... thanks.. I fear if I tell his fate i will be inudated by the freinds of spiders... They tend to have babies and lots of them.... so, he couldn't stay in the apartment....

Thanks Tom, I understand about the DOF. With the home made extension tube I have no apeture control. Everything is wide open and the focus plane is about .5cm SO, you get what you get. Soon I will buy a real set of extension tubes to get back apeture control and AF. I give myself an A+ for building the tube for under three dollars. It even mounts on the camera and holds the lens securly...

pat, it's been a while since i've commented on your stuff. on anyones stuff, really. i need to get back in comment mode and catch up. however, this one caught my eye. reminds me of a number of things: the gorilla hand that slowly creeps onto the page of the storybook in the "holy grail", for one. it is also reminiscent of an apple ad. same aesthetic philosophy, don't you think? although the dof you chose for the spider does throw off the effect a bit. maybe with a completely sharp spider it would truly look like the spider is walking on the frame. regardless, good idea and very well executed.
take care, tom

It's clever, the spider a little out of focus, and the sharp frame increases the 3D effect.

What a cool shot! I love how the spider isn't in the frame entirely. Well done.
