Thanks so much for all your nice comments. Fortunately, this guy was sitting on a slope and I have 10X optical zoom with my camera. All I had to do was sit down. This is good, otherwise I would have been lying in the middle of the road! ;^)

One thing about turtles, they are patient. Besides, as the owl sensed, you're not a threatening sort. He propably knew you were going to show people his picture and he wanted to look good. Is that not a smile on hs face? Great picture, Todd. Contrasted against the gray road, his colours show up well. You have captured wonderful detail. Nice one.
