About Did not like the original shot, cropped a bit, changed the color and saturation, did some framing (too much?) and liked it more.

The lack of a sharp focus forced me to try other things, Christian. Otherwise I would have left the colors as is.

Cheers, Markus

Hi Markus !
I love the effect - definitely strong frame, but I find it harmonious. The one thing that is missing imho is a tack sharp focus, otherwise a superb work.

Thanks for your constructive comment, Subhash. This was just a try to save an underexposed photograph.

Regards, Markus

Just came back from snow shoveling. In the surroundings of Vienna some of the streets are covered with 2 meters of snow due to heavy winds.
They promise higher temperatures for the weekend (when we will start our skiing holidays, lol).
With the two different shadows I tried to make the outer frame look concave and the inner one convex. Seems not too obvious.

Excellently orchestrated red orchid, Markus.
Thank you for your kind words about my "Memories from Kurdistan 2 and 3." I noted your constructive critique on the latter.
Best regards,
Rafi

It's just drawing attention, Paula. As you can see in my notes I wasn't sure myself.

Cheers, Markus

I'd get rid of the orange frame, Markus: it steals attention from the orchid. You creating a new kind of orchid?.My favorites are your white ones, though.

Another great photo, Markus. Some focus may have been lost by the crop. Included one of my orchid photos from an orchid farm taken September last year:-
