Thanks, Chris, but I actually tried cropping out that area and it seemed to bring the heads up too near to the edge. They need the headroom. So the fault just can't be overcome... but I have to look at it this way. This is probably the best candid I've ever taken, and I couldn't have done it without the mobile phone... that way I can put up with the blown bits! As you remarked on another photo, it's given my photography another lease of life, although I still love panoramas and continue to take them. Too busy for the intense after-processing, though...

An excellent candid, Roger, though I think I might have cropped just a little from the top to get rid of the blown-out light spots. Best regards, Chris

Richard, the flower shop is in the underpass between the up and down tracks, and I stood on the steps above the shop to get this angle! No-one appeared to notice. "All foreigners are eccentric" (i.e., deviate from Japanese norms) and few people pay any obvious attention to them...

Another great view into your environment. Did you attract attention wielding your cell phone over your head?

Yes, John. Time and again I find the highlights "blown." I'm learning to live with this, as it seems to go with digital photography. It's a bit like the mental adjustment I had to make many years ago when I switched from negative (B&W) to colour (slide) film. For the first, I exposed for the shadows, but I soon learned for the latter I had to expose for the highlights. Of course, with my "toy" the shadows soon develop multicolored noise. {sigh} So often blown highlights are the least bad choice...

Nice candid Roger. Your Toy certainly allows you to take pictures without attracting attention. The colour saturation is remarkable. It seems to have a few problems with highlight though. Regards John
