I love the shift of tones as it gives a nice range of warmth and dimension. BTW... I am from Washimgton as well so hello!

The atmosphere due to the presence of this imposing tree is impressive, and peaceful too. The tree seems to be the guardian of the tombs..The DOF is well used, accentuates the "role" of the tree. It is an excellent composition. Congrats

Dear Gayle,
wow, that's an interesting perspective. seems to be a miniature graveyard. VERY scary. vignetting and colors support this mood. I've been to a graveyard yesterday, and I always got this undetermined spooky feeling... nice 1!
take care, thilo

Awesome shoot, Gayle. Love the atmosphere, mood and colors. But with that lens, and that angle the DOF doesn't look right??? However, great image!!! C.

Wonderful shot Gayle. The image somehow feels unreal, like it?s a fabricated landscape with fabricated small tomb stones. You once again manage to create a scary and yet beautiful image at the same time. Colour tones and the horizontal frame are excellent.

There is peace here. The soft focus on the tombstones lends a quiet atmosphere yet you have kept the tree vital and detailed. With its strong limbs soaring upward it serves as a guardian. The one leaning headstone appears to be trying to emulate the limb above it. The vignetting allows us a quiet view while not disturbing those at rest. Beautiful work Gayle and thank you for the dedication. You and Poe mean a lot to me too.
