About There's always some new kind of beauty to be found within the Greater Vancouver area and this was located 15 minutes from downtown North Vancouver. It was a long weekend and people were swarming the suspension bridge so Becky V. and I headed down a trail to the water. Only us and two other people were down there for quite a long time. It was truly amazing to be so close to the city, have so many people crammed up top, and then come to this place of solitude, where the water looked like green jello and light bounced amazingly off the canyon walls.
Anyways, enough of my babbling... please comment! Is the darkness too dark, or does it pull your eye through the photo?

I love the colors in this one, Kim, and the deep black just adds depth and richness to them in my opinion! The amorphous shapes make this truly abstract, to be enjoyed simply for their shapeless beauty and relationships (or lack thereof) to one another. There is no particular part of the image that catches my eye, rather I find myself wandering merrily around...

Kim, this image could be described as abstract. It isn't immediately obvious that you have photographed a pool of water. The ripples are a giveaway though! You asked if the darkness is too dark. The dark area on the right is not a problem at all; the ripples there add movement and tie nicely to the green area. The dark area at the center top of the image is jet black, and on my monitor I cannot discern any detail. I wonder if any added detail can be brought out with PS.

I am happy that you went the extra step down the canyon to explore that which was unseen by the hordes above. It is a good lesson for life.
