I do the same thing as well. I post a photo, then I over look the better photo all together...
I like the black background, but I would go with the bokeh of the lens with a bit of blur on the 1st post? Just a thought?

You are absolutely right about the background on this photo. I also thought it was too prominent in the photo, and that's why I Photoshop'd it shortly after it was posted. The result is attached. I'm not sure why I never posted this version instead, maybe I should.
Also, I will try the apples again with a flash-fill, or possibly lighting from directly above. Thanks for the critiques!

1st of all this photo is more than worthy for any site, or purpose. Post Card perfect my friend.
Wonderful detail, shadows, lighting, lines and colour. The only thing that bugs me a bit is the green leaves at the top are a bit blown out and too clear, which draws my eye away from the subject. The leaves at the bottom are blury and dark enough, not to be distracting.

This macro photo of a superb flowers is very nice. The colors are beautiful and the details wonderful. It is a 7 for me and I know the preparation needed to take such a photo. Bravo, continue your good work!
