About
Clashach Cove, Moray, Scotland.
Moray has its own minature sandstone pavements just like those on the Yorkshire moors albeit those are composed of limestone. These rocks simply drip with lichens and overlook the beautiful pebble coves of the beaches near Hopeman. This was taken on a particularly stormy evening where the sun attempted but just failed to penetrate the dense cloud. Above me was a huge solitary white billowing cloud that lent this scene teriffic luminosity amplifying the light that fell on the sea and the lichen rocks, helping to reveal the amazing colour palette beneath.
