Hi, Emily. In the interest of becoming a better photographer (though I'm not too great) and expecting that others would desire the same, thought I'd offer a few comments (I've also spoken to other members about commenting on photos no one else has).
When I first started I also shot a few ducks in local parks, finding them not a bad subject to start with; and there's no doubting the subject of this photo, which is a good thing. I never seemed to get close enough to them to make the shot work, but you definitely did get close and/or cropped well here. One of the best tips for shots that I've learned is, "If nothing else works, close up." However, it seems to me that, considering your title, you might have wanted to get a bit more of the fountain; the title seems to suggest to tight of a crop. The angle seems a little awkward as well, the duck appearing to tip forward just a bit. On the other hand, I may be miles from what you intended. Just thought I'd offer a few pointers. Feel free to do the same.
