There are a few Frank Gehry buildings near my home. I love the look of them. Thank god someone broke the mold for all of us. As to Spanish, I was hoping for a Spanish girlfriend to help out haha...Well the small amount of Spanish I know always gets mixed up with the french that I learned, also from a girlfriend! So as a Basque, do you have your own dialect? At least French and Spanish spell their words similarly and I get by in restaurants well enough. Hey we communicate by imagery. I think we would be fine. Eat, travel and shoot photos what else do you need? thanks for the link! I will check it out.

well, I see we are travellers so perhaps someday we can meet in any place of this disorganized world, but you should learn some spanish because my English is not very fluent :) about architecture, i find it one of the most difficult task in photography, at least to get something decent. I met Paolo Cooradini in Bilbao some months ago and he took a Guggen shot that has been awarded (http://www.usefilm.com/image/1451404.html) a very interesting building but note that you can not take pictures inside I wait for you in 2010, meanwhile, take care txules

Hey thanks, that is a super suggestion! I am going to the Guggenheim because I am an artist by trade as well as interested in Architecture....like the Antonio Gaudi buildings. I am there for a week and I needed some ideas for other things to see, like your suggestion. Would love to have met you if it was possible....but hey... if you make over to the wild part of the world over here in Canada let me know. Would love to show you around the west coast! On the other hand my plane ticket is a return ticket so I am booked to come back possibly in Feb 15th 2010....who knows. I loved being in Argentina and Chile and imagine things are a little bit similar in Spain and Basque country. Late dinners and a night life. haha. thanks again! Tim

Hi Tim, glad to read you will come to Spain (and Basque country btw) in May, at that time I get to Boston for a medical metting, that's life :) from a photographers point of view Bilbao and Barcelona are fine (I'm living near Bilbao) and for sure you can take good pictures there but they are just cities and I know you are mainly a landscape shooter so why not to expend a week or so near Ronda taking pictures of the beautiful small white villages that you can find there?, just an idea here is a link: http://www.turismoderonda.es/indexeng.htm Anyway, in Barcelona and Bilbao there are many good architectural spots that merit a picture txules

Wow! this looks like it was a fantastic trip! I think I will put Madagascar on my list of places to head to. I guess I should wait till the politics settles down first though. By the way I am sailing to Spain on the Square Rigged Tall Ship USCG Eagle. We will be landing in Rota, Spain in May 8th. I was planing on heading to Bilbao, then Barcelona over a period of a week. Just wondering what else you might think is worth checking out from a photographers point of view. timschumm@gmail.com Cheers, Tim

Muy buena Txules!, tiene un gran dinamismo, esas olas se ven impactantes frente al desprotegido joven... Muy adecuado el B&W y ese sutil pero personal toque tuyo.
Felicitaciones!
