Hi esford, thanks much for stopping by and commenting...yes, that's an amazing place on the white mountains and worth several trips...been there last year only for couple of hours, I could manage only one keeper but needless to say that I need to visit that place soon and spent more time, which is a big constraint for hobbiest like myself :-)

If you have the opportunity Deb, I would love to see your interpretation of the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forests of the eastern Sierras (near Big Pine, CA.). Your portfolio is an outstanding body of beautiful work. I enjoy this shot as well as all of your others very much. Best regards, John

btw, I forgot to mention that the original shot and your re-work seems all together a different image of different taste. now you see the reason why I love shooting landscapes :-)

hahahaha...Sunset Man (would be good to know your actual name), u are a tough guy...its pretty hard to work on those low resolution downloaded jpegs but I must say that u did a good job in-spite...the high-pass sharpener did some effect on that shot...thanks for your effort...the problem is in portrait mode i would have composed the shot little differently as u can see one here

did you mean something like this ? thanks for your effort though.

Thanks for your forgiveness Debjit! :))
This must have been a really tough call on the composition to catch those red rays which I totally understand and the orginal is really a quite placid image.
This is one of those pieces that is extremely versatile in the eye of the beholder, so I congrat you but at the same time even want to go further with a 'High Pass Sharpen' for that Ansel Adams feel ...
Now what do you think that I have placed you in that category of the renowned ... ! :))
Best of Regards once again!

hello sunset man, i certainly didn't mind the re-work..honestly i wanted the horizontal format and color since those the very special in this shot...the fast and fleeting red rays...its hard to see why in a small size but certainly it looks gorgeous in prints...
