Thank you Dennis. Yes that is its real name. The tree is a Syamore Tree and it is growing in a gap in Hadrians Wall in Northumberland. The wall is 72 miles long and was built in 122 AD. It is a world Heritage site and one of the most visited areas in Britain.
The tree itself became very popular as it formed the opening sequence of a block busting movie called... "Robin Hood Prince of Thieves" and starred Kevin Kostner.
